🧭 Overview
From July 28 to August 4, 2024, Edwin Kok of the Netherlands Fire Service conducted a Short-Term Scientific Mission (STSM) at ANEPC in Portugal, as part of the NERO COST Action. The visit focused on operational wildfire analysis systems, deepening collaboration between northern and southern European fire services.

💭 Relevance & Reflections
This mission underscored the importance of early knowledge transfer between southern and northern European fire agencies. Edwin highlighted the relevance of ANEPC’s systems for northern countries facing increasing wildfire risks, and emphasized the value of shared training, operational exposure, and joint preparedness.
