NERO Network Café (May 2024)–Tools and Methods for Reconstructing Wildfire Spread

Recording of the 1st NERO Network Café on satellite-based and field-based approaches for reconstructing wildfire spread, featuring practical demonstrations and guidance.

🎥 Webinar Recording

Watch the full recording of the inaugural NERO Network Café, held on 31 May 2024. This webinar introduced practical tools and methods for reconstructing wildfire spread using both satellite data and field observations, providing participants with essential guidance on data collection workflows.

🧭 Overview

The first webinar of the NERO Network Café series focused on practical methodologies for reconstructing wildfire spread, a core task in understanding fire behaviour and extreme event dynamics. The session provided theoretical foundations and hands-on demonstrations of satellite remote sensing techniques as well as field data collection using the NERO fire application. The aim was to equip participants with transferable skills that support both scientific analysis and operational learning from past wildfires.
